New Zion Christian Fellowship was started in the 1960s by Pastors Peter and Rose Eldridge. It started as a ‘house church’ and each week a few people met in homes to worship God. As it grew, it became known as Welwyn Garden City Christian Fellowship. As more people came, the church moved into a community centre. Then, in 1998, a church building became available and the church moved to its current location on Cole Green Lane. It was then renamed New Zion Christian Fellowship. Peter & Rose have been supported by Keith & May Ling on the leadership team, since New Zion started.
In 2016, God called Peter & Rose to a more apostolic role and in September 2016 they handed over the church leadership to Andy & Caroline, who have been involved on the leadership team for 10 years. Peter & Rose continue to remain very involved at New Zion.
We have approximately 60 people who come together on a Sunday morning to worship God. There are also other meetings during the week including prayer meetings and a bible study. We are an independent church and led by the Holy Spirit. We align our beliefs with the Evangelical Alliance basis of faith.
