Foodbank

Update from 14/10/20

Please bring a mask on Wednesdays going forward, as some food will be available inside the building due to weather conditions during the winter. We will be limiting the number of clients inside at any one time and unfortunately there there will be no toilet facilities or refreshments available, due to current restrictions.

Please keep the recommended social distance of 2m from other people and our volunteers. We are working within government recommendations to ensure our volunteers and foodbank users remain safe and healthy.  Please read the following instructions, to help us to help you:

If you have a voucher:

Please be prepared to read out the voucher number and discard it in a bucket.  We will then give you a bag of pre-packed food.

If you do not have a voucher:

We need you to have a telephone assessment by Citizens Advice who will issue us with a voucher on your behalf, if they feel this is appropriate. You need to email foodbank@newzioncf.net and provide your full name, contact phone number and the following statement “I am happy for Citizens Advice to contact me on this number”  You will then receive a call from Citizens Advice and telephone assessment and they will then let us know you will be attending to receive food.

For any other queries, email:   foodbank@newzioncf.net

Please check here for any further updates.

We are home to Foodbank, an organisation dedicated to serving those in our community. Each week we see around 30-35 people who have been given food vouchers by their care professional and we provide a free emergency food parcel to help them, whilst in difficult circumstances.

For agencies and organisations who work with those in need and would like vouchers….

Please email us on foodbank@newzioncf.net or use our contact form.

Please include the following information:

  • Name and Job Role
  • Organisation/Agency
  • Contact Telephone Number (and times/days when you are available to be called)
  • Organisation Address (where the vouchers will be posted to)
  • We will aim to contact you within 7 days to discuss your request.

For other Foodbank enquires or to arrange donation or collection of food….

If you are able to drop off any food donations/collections to the church carpark on a Wednesday morning between 9am and 11am, this would greatly help us during this busy time. There will be Foodbank volunteers outside the church to greet you and help unload.

If you need us to collect from you, this is no problem. Please call Ian Matthews on 07920 391358 or email  ian.matthews@newzioncf.net or foodbank@newzioncf.net
